General Orders is a two-player board game that simulates commanding an army during World War II. Players compete to capture the enemy headquarters and control the strategic enclave by issuing tactical orders. The design combines classic wargame elements with worker placement mechanics, where every decision to advance, bombard, or reinforce troops directly influences the course of the game.
The double-sided board offers two distinct scenarios: an alpine one and an island one with aviation units, providing variety and replayability. The roles are asymmetric, and each side starts with a different initial situation. Actions include advancing, artillery bombardment, reinforcements, and planning, as well as aerial maneuvers such as takeoff or paratrooper deployment in certain scenarios. Combat is triggered when troops meet on hexagonal spaces, followed by an attrition phase.
