Yokai is a cooperative board game designed for groups of 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up. Participants must work as a team to calm Japanese spirits and regroup them by families, using memory and deduction as their main tools. The mechanics are based on full cooperation, where success or failure is shared by the entire group.

A distinctive feature is the restriction of direct verbal communication, which forces players to rely on clue and affinity cards to coordinate their moves in silence. Games last approximately 20 minutes and are played using a card format that includes 16 Yokai cards, 14 clue cards, 6 affinity cards, and 3 objective cards. The simple rules make it easy to get started with this type of gameplay.
