The TP-Link MC220L is a media converter designed to interconnect fiber optic networks with copper cabling. This device allows bidirectional conversion between 1000BASE-SX/LX/LH fiber and 1000Base-T cable, complying with IEEE 802.3ab and IEEE 802.3z standards. Its FX port supports hot swapping, facilitating installation and maintenance without interrupting service. The unit operates with multimode fiber at 850 nm and single-mode fiber at 1310 nm, for both data transmission and reception.

In terms of performance, the MC220L achieves a maximum distance of 10,000 m with single-mode fiber. It includes Auto MDI/MDI-X functionality on the TX port and status LEDs on the front panel for activity monitoring. It can operate as a standalone device or be integrated into a 19-inch rack. Its dimensions are 94.5 mm wide, 27 mm high, and 73 mm deep, and it features a black finish.
